Nurse Kate Hudson (mini-Goldie) is employed by an old New Orleans couple and moves into their big house in the swamp. Soon she realises that there's something extremely fishy going on in the attic. This slightly scattered yet underrated hoodoo chiller is crammed with thick cajun atmosphere and spiced with inspired performances from Geena Rowland and John Hurt. But what really catapults Skeleton Key above average is the knockout last reel. It may not be the most plausible ending there is but, damn, what an ending!
