The Murder Secret
Italy
1988. Director: Robert Martin (Mario Bianchi)
Cast: Gabriele Tinti,
Adriana Russo, Jessica Moore, Norren Parker
Aka: Non Avere Paura Della Zia Martha

The Italian title tells us that we shouldn't
be afraid for Aunt Martha. Which is all we need to know really. Martha
is a psycho granny who have just spent 30 years in a loony bin. Now
she invites her son-in-law Gabriele Tinti to her house in the country.
Only when Tinti arrives with his family he discovers that there is no
Martha around, just a weird caretaker and a couple of grave stones with
his name on in the backyard. A couple of minutes later he also finds
his family dead around the kitchen table. There must be something going
on.
The
Murder Secret, "supervised by
Lucio Fulci" whatever that means, don't get anywhere, it's just boring
and corny despite containing huge buckets of blood, gore and severed heads.
Luckilly large parts of the film was recycled in Lucio Fulci's own Nightmare
Concert which borrowed all the good scenes (including Jessica Moore's
shower kill) and put them in a much funnier context. Fast-forward through
this and see that instead.
