Jason X

Jason in space? Cool.

A team of teenage scientists from space arrives to a futuristic earth and discovers Jason Voorhees in a fridge. They take him with them up to their spaceship, hoping they can get some money for their discovery. Obviously they haven't seen any of the other Friday the 13th parts, so as soon as Jason's in the warmth of the ship he awakes from his sleep and begins stalking the crew, killing them off in creative ways. Business as usual for momma's boy.

Everyone have their own favorite Friday flick and I'm sure some fans will hold this as a favorite as well. The filmmakers have tried to really come up with something different and it's different, but not that different. Teenagers have sex, they die, they kill Jason, Jason comes back again as Über-Jason etc etc. There's maybe a bit more comedy crammed in and the special effects are obviously a bit more spectacular, although there's still room for the old hardware tricks. It may not be good, but it's enjoyable for most of the time and refreshing in some perverse way. I only wish they could have gotten a better cast, though. The main actors are all so damn insignificant that Kane Hodder's performance as Jason comes across as the by far greatest around.
