House of Wax
USA 2005. Director: Jaume Collet-Serra
Cast: Elisha Cuthbert, Chad-Michael Murray, Paris Hilton

A company of teenagers camping in the woods runs across a strange little town and a mysterious museum made entirely of wax, populated by only two deranged puppet-producing brothers. House of Wax is definitely overlong but other than that not worse than any other teen slasher from recent years. Elisha Cuthbert is a decent scream queen and the rest is loaded with gore, slime, stuff that melts and cut-off body parts, all very well done in typical Joel Silver style (expensive). Though ultimately all the hype surrounding the film seem to bog down to one important question: can Paris Hilton act? Considering what kind of film this is, the only honest answer to that is: does it really matter?
