Cannibals
Spain/France
1981. Director: Jess Franco
Cast: Al Cliver, Sabrina Siani, Antonio Mayans, Lina Romay
Aka: White Cannibal Queen
While in the Malawbi jungle Al Cliver and his
family are attacked by cannibals. The cannibals hacks off Cliver's arm
and kidnaps his daughter, thinking she must be the "White Queen". After
a few years of recovery and disco dancing Al Cliver decides to go back
into the jungle and search for his lost daughter. When he finds her he
discovers that she has turned into tribal leader and blonde sex-goddess
Sabrina Siani. He also discovers that the jungle is actually someone's
backyard. And since someone clever had his arm chopped off in the beginning
of the film he must now run around with his arm tied to his back, hidden
under his jacket, for the rest of the film. No worry though, the cannibals
consists of pasty white Spanish tourists with make-up and moustaches and
they all attack and eat in slow-motion. Cliver and his daughter manage
to escape back to civilization. Either this is some of most stupid cannibalistic
filmmaking ever made and to be avoided at any cost. Or it is a Franco-tastic
sleaze-classic not to be missed at any cost. I just can't decide.
