Ballistic: Ecks
vs. Sever

2002. Director: Wych Kaosayananda
Cast: Antonio Banderas, Lucy Liu, Gregg Henry, Talisa Soto

This dressed-up C-movie might as well have
been entitled Bananas or any other adjective. It's bananas from
the word go. Only problem, it's not bananas enough. Two superagents,
Lucy Liu in heavy leather gere and Antonio Banderas, goes berserk upon
their former employer (Gregg Henry). At first the two agents compete,
shooting at each other, then they team up. Everything is in fucking
slow-motion, all that moves explodes and it's loud in the way a crashing
plane is loud. As long as Lucy and Banderas kick ass it's an okey timewaster
of a movie. Only then the middle part is melodramatic crap and the film
never recovers, turning the last third into a big anti-climatic letdown.
They should have sacrificed the limp substance, no one cares about these
characters anyway, and just kept the two attractive stars kicking and
shooting and it might have worked better. When doing interviews for
Ballistic Banderas said that he doesn't care about his career.
Well, he should. Someone make him understand.
