16th century mystery about an upright sheriff going after a masked serial killer during the heydays of the Spanish Inquisition. Compared to recent Christopher Lambert turkeys like Druids this feels like fresh air for fans of the star. It's hokey and puzzling, slightly farfetched and a bit overlong, but very bloody and violent. One of the Lambert's more watchable movies.
