Children of
the Corn 5: Field of Terror
USA
1998. Director: Ethan Wiley
Cast: Stacy Galina, Eva Mendez, Fred Williamson, David Carradine
Why do Stephen King keep lending his name to
these movies? There should be some way for him to stop them from using
it. Six college students are having an engine brekadown in Divinity
Falls, a little small town ruled by an evil sect run by David Carradine
and an army of cute little bastards (that's children). This fifth entry
is slightly more watchable than some others in the series, but only
because it has a slightly better cast. Fred Williamson never disappoints
(here as a tough sheriff whose head cracks), David Carradine does what
he does best (sitting in a chair looking old and wise) and Eva Mendez
went on to better parts (like Training Day) after this. Okay
for a 80 minute timewaster, competently directed by House 2 helmer
Ethan Wiley, but this series should have been aborted a long time ago.
