Massacre
Italy 1991. Director: Andrea Bianchi Cast: Patrizia Falcone, Gino Concari, Silvia Conti, Paul Muller Yet another cheapo from the always sleazy Andrea Bianchi. And yet another film that ended up (in parts) in "supervisor" Lucio Fulci's Nightmare Concert collage. It's also one of the most bloodthirsty and perverse thrillers I've seen for some time. Already before the credits our killer has picked up an hitch-hiking hooker and hacked her hands and head off in glorious detail. To put it simple, watch it uncut or forget it. It centers around the making of a zombie film (and it's not Night of Terror, thank God for that) aptly entitled Dirty Blood. The crew argues with eachother all the time and the horror gets real when girls are killed one after another by some pervo. Who's the killer? Is it the creepy director (who may or may not be Mister Bianchi himself)? The tranvestite? Or is it maybe the policeman who is possessed by the evil spirit of a monk? Beats me. You can't really blame Andrea Bianchi for being the most subtle director in the world and most parts of this film is dumber than shit. And there's a slight misogynistic feel over some of the killings. But as with most Italian genre films of the '90s it has some style, a loud soundtrack (delivered by reliable Luigi Ceccarelli) and some cool locations. Some of the better scenes in the film takes place when our heroine (Patrizia Falcone) is chased through the colorful exteriors of the beautiful Cinecittà studios. If you can find it, Massacre delivers.
