Absurd
Italy 1981.
Director: Peter Newton (Joe D'Amato)
Cast: George Eastman, Annie Belle, Edmund Purdum
Aka: Rosso Sangue

This is the feared
follow-up to Anthropophagus
and
it's even worse. This time cannibalistic psychopath George Eastman is
on the run from a mental institution, chased by a Greek priest (Purdum).
Somehow Eastman manage to get himself pierced on a fence badly and so
runs to the nearest house and dumps his intestines on the threshold. Eventually
he ends up at the hospital where he is used as a guinea pig for a new
drug which can rebuild human body tissue. The experiment is successful
and Eastman is fit for fight again, hallelujah.
About as intelligent
as a porn film, the story is nothing, and
I mean nothing, but an excuse for setting up a couple of extremely grisly
and bloody murders. Eastman slowly saws the head of a bald guy. Eastman
slowly pushes an electric drill through a nurse's head. Eastman stuffs
poor Annie Belle into a hot oven very slowly. Eastman has his head chopped
off by a girl with an axe. Did we really think this was funny once?
You bet.
